 | Mariano Deals Ybarra to Cienfuegos for Rivas
Tuesday, March 1st, 1966: The Baseball News Network is reporting that Mariano and Cienfuegos have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 30-year-old third baseman Alonso Ybarra and 22-year-old left fielder Roberto Ortíz to the Elefantes with 27-year-old reliever Jorge Rivas and 19-year-old catcher Roberto Santos joining the Tigres. Mariano's general manager would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league.
