Executives, coaches, players and fans are all anticipating what is in store for Cuban Professional League this year. |  | Habana-Almendares Deal: Flores for Córdova Monday, July 29th, 1963: The Habana Leones have finalized a deal that will send 30-year-old second baseman Manny Flores to Almendares for 33-year-old starting pitcher Miguel Córdova and 24-year-old first baseman Francisco Quintanilla. Minor details still need to be worked out before the trade becomes official, but the players involved are expected to be with their new clubs soon.
Flores has hit for a .273 career average and totaled 232 hits, 1 home run and 104 RBIs.
Over his career Córdova has 14 victories and 19 defeats with a 3.54 ERA. The 33-year-old hurler also has struck out 100 batters in 338 innings and surrendered 311 hits. | | | | |
