| Breaking News |  | Fort Bragg's Caraballo, Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner Saturday, August 31st, 1963: He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Augusto Caraballo performed like a veteran on the hill for the Fort Bragg Soldiers and walked away with the High Desert League Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.
The 20-year-old Soldiers star fashioned a 20-4 won-loss record in 1963 with a 1.21 ERA. In 208.1 innings of work and 29 starts, Caraballo struck out 164 while giving up 114 hits and 65 walks.
